|
![]() |
|
Willing Workers On Organic Farms is a form of cultural exchange in which WWOOFers live and work as family on host farms all over Australia. They learn about the skills of organic growing and the area they are visiting. Americans traveling to Australia need a passport and a visa. WWOOF provides a small insurance(Cigna) policy to cover you while you are working on the farm. A minimum of two nights is required. You will work 4-6 hours a day in exchange for your room and board. Names and addresses of WWOOF hosts are published in the WWOOF Directory. Many hosts have e-mail; some accept families. Farms range from 32,000-acre sheep stations to 1/4 acres house block, all requiring organic gardening as part of the tasks required in the general maintenance of the property. WWOOF Australia has been in business 20 years. Aprroximately 10,000 WWOOFers a year visit Australia. |
